Mehrauli: Tales from the Village of Sufi Saints & Slave Sultans

Spend a Sunday in the DBF time-machine as we roam the alleys of a 1200 years old village right here in Delhi!
Do you wish to explore the link between the great Sufi Saint Moinuddin Chisti and Delhi’s most famous Sufi pir Nizamuddin Auliya while walking the lanes of the oldest bazaars of Delhi?

Did you know that one of the largest man-made water reservoir of the Eastern worlds was once in Mehrauli?

We the storytellers of DelhiByFoot, will take you on a tryst with the Sufi mystic masters and the Slaves who became Sultans! Join us this Sunday morning on an adventure exploring the regal ruins of Mehrauli, Delhi’s oldest continuously inhabited city, 1000-year old stories of the multiple empires and the numerous conquerors, emperors and rulers who have left their mark on Mehrauli.
And of course no DBF experience is complete without FOOD!!! So be sure of a hearty breakfast from a place as old as independent India!

The story-telling sessions will be done in Urdu/Hindi and English also.

ESSENTIALS TO WEAR & CARRY:
1- Dress appropriately to respect local religious sentiments…
2- Do wear a good pair of walking shoes or flip-flops, we walk for almost 1.5 Kms.
3- Delhi is reeling under plastic waste, let’s not pollute our city any further, so request you to carry your own bottle of water.
